August has mostly been cold and wet but the few days we have had sun (remember that?) I found myself reaching for one particular outfit, its comfy and has colour- who am I? My wardrobe is 95% black and I’ve been trying to branch out and experiment with colour with my clothing, usually the only colour you’ll see on me is either my hair or my makeup.
Crop Top: Stradivarius
Trainers: Nike Roshe Run
Bag: New Look
Jacket: French Connection
These culottes are life, I am actually living in them! They’re so damn comfortable, it’s like you’re wearing pyjama pants and why would you not want to feel like that all the time? I feel like everyone needs a pair of these bad boys in their wardrobe. They’re so versatile and a staple item in my wardrobe, for a more casual vibe pair them with trainers as I’ve done here or jazz them up a bit by wearing heels and you’re ready for a night on the town. These one’s are from Missguided, coming in black, grey, blush pink and a white option they have a small tie belt which I feel is pointless in terms of being practical as the culottes are already elasticated but it adds a nice little detail which you can have at the back or the front of the trousers. You can find this style in pretty much every store right now so just go buy some because you’ll be forever comfy.
This zip up crop top is from Stradivarius and it’s an absolute dream. I bought it for my trip to Barcelona and I only got to wear it for a couple of hours one evening because it rained the whole time we were there (I’m not bitter about that or anything) so I’ve been making the most of wearing it here whilst the sun has been out.
When it gets a little cooler I pop on my French Connection jacket, which provides a barrier from the breeze but isn’t too warm. I adore this jacket so much, it’s easy to wear and I love the clashing print with the crop top. You may have seen it featured in The Statement Piece post and it’ll popping up in future outfit posts too because it goes with everything. I bought this about 5 years ago and it is one of my all time favourite pieces. If I’m forking out a fair bit of cash for something it most definitely needs to be something I will get a lot of wear out of and love for a long time and I’m so glad I do.
This New Look over the shoulder bag is perfect for carrying round the essentials, I’m not one for carrying massive bags so small ones like these or mini backpacks are my favourite. And to top the outfit off I added trainers because comfort. I’ve been living in my Nike Roshe’s lately, they’re so unbelievably comfortable and the thin mesh material makes them great for hot weather too but if it starts to rain then I’m screwed.
I’m living my best comfortable life and I’m happy about that, now I’m off to search for more comfy culottes. And a massive shout out to my brother for taking these sick pictures.
