I have to profess my love for the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils. THEY ARE THE BEST, I LOVE THEM, THEY ARE AMAZING!
I could just leave it at that to be honest because that’s all you need to know but I’ll give you guys some more information on these beauties.
First off they come in a range of colours which is always going to be a hit. There is most definitely something to suit everyone, from your classic nudes to those who like to paint their lips with something a little brighter.
As the name would suggest they are unbelievably velvet like, they glide on like a dream and wear incredibly well through out the day. They do wear down after eating/drinking but that’s with anything, nothing a quick touch up wouldn’t sort out. Because they’re nice and chunky you can apply one quick swipe and you’re good to go or you can use them as a base underneath a lipstick for extra longevity but for me I wear them on their own because they’re just so easy and great for lazy people like me.
This bright orange red shade is the perfect way to add colour to an all black outfit which is what I’m in most of the time. Kinda makes it look like I’ve made an effort when in reality I haven’t. Pair it with a stripped back makeup look and you’re good to go.
If you’re looking for a deeper red shade then you’ve got that with this one, the lighting does wash out the colour a little. NARS describe this as a Crimson Red and I agree, it has deeper tones to it then your classic pillar box red.
Completely different to any other colour I have in my collection Toundra is one of a kind. It’s a maroon/brown shade with a bit of a sparkle to it but it’s a matte finish, at first I wasn’t sure about this but I’m totally loving it now. The texture is the same as the others but it’s that added sparkle that initially through me off. I would rock this as I’ve worn it above or I’m thinking it would be interesting to use it to create a grungy smokey eye.
Described as a ‘Vivid Siren Red’ Dragon Girl is the berry version of Mysterious Red. They are similar and you notice the difference more when they are swatched next to each other on the hand. You don’t need both in your life but I’m lad I’ve got them cos I’m such a hoarder. Add a classic winged liner and the look is complete.
These are my go to lip products because of how comfortable they feel on the lips, when I think of a matte lipstick I just assume it will make my lips feel dry and chapped but not with these. Application is easy, colours are great, texture is smooth and lips aren’t left feeling dry, what else do you need to know? Add these to your stash now and I promise you won’t be disappointed.
